Project Description:
We built this Trex deck in Fairbanks, AK. The old deck had 1″ x 4″ decking and the railings were extremely unsafe and not compliant with code. This deck is south-facing and had taken a beating from the sun over the years. To prevent the need for annual maintenance, the homeowner decided to go with Trex decking for a maintenance-free deck that will never fade in the long, sunny Fairbanks days.

Deck Details:
Deck Supports: 12″ Sonotubes with concrete and rebar
Deck Frame: Pressure Treated Lumber
Main Decking: We installed Trex Select (Saddle Brown) for the main deck area. We used hidden fasteners to attach everything.
Border Decking: The border “picture frame” was Trex Select (Pebble Grey). I like to use an accent color for the border Trex.
Railing: Trex Transcend Railing (White) with a Trex cocktail rail and Aluminum Balusters (Black)
